From the Pastor A Word
We are halfway through our third year in ministry together at Vernon United Methodist church (VUMC) since I was appointed here in July 2017. All the wonderful people who have given their time, talents and gifts to God have allowed us to continue to grow in serving our church, community and beyond.
Here at VUMC we continue the outreach of our Food Pantry, Clothing ministry, Free Community dinners, Wednesday night light meal and a message, and many other ministries. I would invite you to come by and see where God may be calling you to get involved and help serve others. Serving others gives great satisfaction and peace knowing you are helping someone else.
Our church services are friendly and inviting. Sunday morning at 8:30am is our quieter traditional service while our 10:30am is a livelier blended service. Come and worship our Lord and Savior with us and then join us for refreshments and fellowship after service. Come and get to know why we love serving and how you can get involved too.
As we continue to be God’s hands and feet in this world, we are always looking for new ideas and ways in which God calls us. If you have an idea or want to start a ministry come have a conversation with me and we will work towards it together.
The past two and a half years have gone by so quickly. I have seen the Spirit working in and through many having them grow in faith and service. It is a true blessing and gift to me to be able to serve and shepherd those that God has called me to. I look forward to years ahead of joining in and watching how God will move the Spirit within us even farther in the future. Vernon United Methodist Church is a great place to get involved and serve.
“I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.”
