In Matthew 25:40, Christ says “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.” The mission of this ministry is to provide opportunities for this church to put these words into practice. Our ministry members are dedicated to being the hands and feet of God and bringing his love to people in need. We are blessed to have a generous, caring congregation, who are very supportive of our projects.
Our Food Pantry, Clothing Ministry and free monthly community dinners serve people throughout the year (see descriptions below). We provide food baskets for people in need in our community at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We have a Community Garden (Click here for details) in the summer, which enables us to provide fresh vegetables to people who use our food pantry. We have a one week Vacation Bible School for 80 – 100 children during the summer. Other activities we have done throughout the year are Shoeboxes for Military, Blood Drives, March of Dimes Walk and School Supplies Collection. For 2 years in a row, we have sent a Mission Team to the Red Bird Mission in Southeastern Kentucky, one of the poorest regions in the United Sates. The team renovated homes in the community and served as the hand and feet of Jesus. The Red Bird Mission provides a witness for Christ in the heart of Appalachia by providing food, clothing, transportation and health care assistance year round.
The Mission and Outreach Ministry meets once a month, usually the first Sunday of the month, at 12:15 p.m. Everyone is welcome! You do not have to be a member of the committee to attend meetings. We always welcome your input and ideas. Come join us!
